All students must collect and read the book
'Shrutinandan' authored by Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty
(available both in Bengali and English at
$10 or 6 pounds from Shrutinandan, Kolkata)
to form a clear conception of his musical
mission preferably before joining this class.
2) Students need to send their brief bio-data
and full contact address and telephone nos.
with a demo-recording of their vocal recital
with rhythm (preferably Tabla) to Shrutinandan
(by email or otherwise) in advance for an
eligibility test judged by Pandit Chakrabarty.
Results are intimated through email.
3) Eligible students must confirm their
preference of package in advance through
email / fax (please refer to the tariff
structure for classes, boarding and food).
4) Panditji may take all classes of a student
or a part (duration maximum one hour), and/or
may get him developed under some other instructors
of Shrutinandan on specific aspects.
5) Only audio recording of the classes
will be allowed, and that too for no commercial
purposes.
6) Students need to bring their own cassette
recorders. Other accessories like cassettes,
connecting wires, batteries etc. they can
buy them from Shrutinandan against payment,
if necessary. They can, however, use necessary
musical instruments of Shrutinandan free
of any charges, namely Tanpura, Harmonium,
Tabla and Electronic Tanpura.
7) Tution Fees are framed on Package Class
including 1 weekly off basis :

8) ONE-to-ONE
Class : (Taken exclusively
by Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty)
a) Such classes will
normally be held in April and November every
year and would be fixed through exchange
of email/fax.
b) Fees will be US $ 100 per
class per hour. Indian Rupees (INR) is not
acceptable.
Special
Note :
1) Students living in Bangladesh (Passport
proof essential) can attend Panditji's class
against payment of Rs. 1000 (INR) per class
per hour.
2) Students must specify in their correspondence
whether they will stay at Shrutinandan or
any other place in Kolkata at their own
arrangement.
Students may make local telephone
calls free of charge but STD/ISD facility
will not be provided by Shrutinandan. Public
telephone booths are close-by.
Incoming telephone calls will be transferred
to the students' rooms anytime of the day
and night.
E-mail accessibility available from 1p.m
to 3 p.m. (IST) from Tuesday to Friday only.
Bottled mineral water (maximum 2 litres
per person) may be had free of charge everyday.
Shrutinandan will arrange for medical care
and treatment of students if and when necessary,
but will not bear the expenses thereof.
Elevator may be used by the students from
9 a.m to 9 p.m only. As there is no liftman,
careful handling of the elevator is requested.
Expenses for damage of any equipment of
Shrutinandan including that of the elevator
will be borne by the students concerned.
Shrutinandan provides security personnel
round the clock.
Students cannot leave Shrutinandan premises
anytime without informing the Principal
or the person-in-charge for administrative
reasons.
Food & Lodging charges are as under

Veg/Non-veg of only Indian Dishes will be
served as per the following time-table:

- 8.00 p.m to 9.00 p.m
N.B. :
50% of the estimated total expenses
to be paid in advance from the foreign country
directly to Shrutinandan's name or to its
FCRA A/c. no. 420 163 604 with American
Express Bank Limited (Branch Code 700031004),
21 Old Court House Street, Kolkata - 700
001 and remaining 50% to be paid on the
day of commencement of the classes.
All payments have to be made in
US Dollar or by any other currency at the
prevailing exchange rate of US Dollar. Payments
must be made either by Banker’s /
Cashier’s / travellers' cheque or
in cash but Credit Cards will not be accepted.
Indian Rupees will not be accepted from
any student living outside India.
For extra classes beyond above package
scheme, charges will be 100 US Dollar if
taken by Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty and 25
US Dollar if taken by any other instructor
per class per hour basis. Food & Lodging
will be proportionately negotiated.
