was no facility to get Harmoniums properly
tuned in internationally accepted A-440 pitch.
Shrutinandan pioneered this facility for
the first time in our country.
As a result of this effort harmonium makers,
these days, have understood its necessity
and tunes in the said international pitch.
But it remains a perennial problem, as
efficient tuners are not readily available
in numbers.
As a quality control measure in this arena,
Shrutinandan has some finest harmonium makers
and tuners who make and tune new harmoniums
and repair and tune the old ones which are
always checked by Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty
himself and some of his designated students
to facilitate students learning about the
correct pitch and tune of the harmonium.
Professional musicians also get their Harmoniums
tuned in correct pitch at Shrutinandan.
