Our Patrons

Creating an enduring institution for the arts takes much effort, and much of this effort comes from culturally sensitive patrons of the arts. Without them, our society would be much the poorer.

We would like to thank the following for having helped us establish ourselves and grow into what we are today:

First, our guru His Holiness Srimat Swami Sadananda Brahmachariji Maharaj who laid the foundation of this institution through his constant moral support and spiritual guidance.

The Sangeet Research Academy, Calcutta, and its director Mr VK Kichlu for being an inspiration to us through their work and organization. Shrutinandan hopes to do for young people what the Academy does today for older students.

Shri Budhhadev Bhattacharya, minister of the Government of West Bengal, for kindly allotting for the land on which Shrutinandan was built.

Hindustan Lever Limited bore the entire expense for the construction of our premises, thanks to the kindness of their Chairman Mr Susim Mukul Datta. In recognition of their magnificent generosity, our premises bear the name Hindustan Lever Sangeet Sangha.

The Calcutta Municipal Corporation very considerately reduced building plan fees from Rs 100,000 to Re 1.

Mackintosh Burn Ltd, one of India's oldest construction houses, constructed our premises at cost price.

The Oil and Natural Gas Commission have also promoted Shrutinandan's cause.
