Baaj |
|
| |
A typical
style of playing an instrument in a typical
manner is called Baaj. Same instrument can
be played in different Baaj because the Baaj
basically depends on the technical expertise
and attitude of an artiste. |

Bandish |
|
| |
The word
Bandish is only used in Raga music. In modern
times, Bandish is sung only in Dhrupad, Dhamar
and Khyal style. Bandish must be composed
in a rhythmic cycle or Taal in which the above
mentioned styles are sung. |
 |
Bol-Taan |
|
| |
Singing
of musical phrases interlinked with Bols (part
of the lyric) when moving in medium, medium-fast,
fast and very fast “Laya” (pace)
is Bol-Taan. Obviously instruments cannot
produce such Bol-Taan because no instrument
can produce meaningful words. |
