Jhala |

Melody
interpolated with strokes on the Chikari (sympathetic)
strings. It is played in very fast tempo and
marks the climax after Alap and Jod. It is
sometimes played, also after the ‘Gat.’ |

Jugalbandi |
|
| |
Performance
of two artistes together is called Jugalbandi
(Duet). We experience best Jugalbandi programmes
when both the artistes learn from the same
Guru for long long time. |

Jod |
|
| |
In instrumental
Raga performance, Jod is played after the
Alap. Actually Jod means to be directly connected
with the rhythmic cycle which goes inside
the mind. In Jod, all the notes are played
in different styles and in different permutation
and combination in different Chhand (rhythmic
pattern). Normally, Pakhawaj or Tabla accompaniment
are not there. |
