Programs We OfferMusical Training Program for Children
This program is unique in giving children a firm foundation in vocal techniques. While there are many Gurus and institutes for classical music in India, none address the foundation needs of the young learner. This program is designed to serve as a deep foundation in vocal training for children. The program is based on universal techniques and principles and is not affiliated to any gharana or school of music. (For example, while Hindustani Music is taught by Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty, the legendary Carnatic maestro Dr M Balamurali Krishna mentors advanced students in the intricacies of Carnatic Music.) Our students go on to join Gurus in different gharanas. We believe that music is neither sung nor heard in a vacuum. The program therefore offers a holistic approach to the learning of music, with a unique process that includes guidance on public performance, acoustics and sound recording. Believing that soul-stirring music can only emerge from a sound body, we also track the physical health of our students through the services of consulting physicians and specialists. Where possible, we try to bring families of students into music appreciation courses, so that instead students’ musical experience does not end at classroom and practice sessions but extends into their home environment.
